Success

As a value, success has its own aesthetic, its own semiotic code, its own rituals.
The project makes a reading, through portraits of the inhabitants, of several neighbourhoods of Beijing where private colleges modelled on American schools educate the future leaders of the country. In these breeding grounds, the emphasis is entirely on success as the ultimate objective.
Success documents and cross-references the stories of individuals. The project is based on a series of portraits, with occasional diversions into the urban landscape. It documents the way in which the desire to succeed is expressed in the everyday lives of a new generation.
