The Red Ribbon is located in the Tanghe River Park, in the costal city of Qinhuangdao. The park is situated in 50-acre site on the banks of the Tanghe River, a derelict area previously earmarked for residential development. The main feature of the park is a 500-metre red fiberglass bench that winds through the site allowing passers-by to comfortably enjoy the river bank. The bench, which was fabricated in local boat-building yards, contains recessed lighting fixtures that illuminate the boardwalk at night.
